Do you want to make a huge impact and help deliver exciting geomatics solutions to partners? If you do, we are looking for someone like you to join our team. We are looking to strengthen our team with the addition of a Geomatics Programming Analyst.


Primary Accountabilities
----------------------------



We are looking for a geomatics programming professional to work with team members to develop, support and improve geomatics software that is critical to delivering government programs and services.




• Translate business needs into technical requirements.


• Design, configure, and maintain custom geomatics applications and software.


• Develop secure custom applications, reusable components and integrate with internal and external services and APIs.


• Assist in the development of geomatics application architecture strategies, policies, and guidelines.


• Assist with client need assessments/evaluations for geomatics websites, applications, and data models, ensuring optimization, and efficiency.


• Read, write, and debug code written for geomatics software, applications, and utilities.


• Test applications for/with clients and partners.




Qualifications and Experience
---------------------------------



To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus a minimum of three (3) years' experience or graduation from a recognized technology program plus three (3) years and six (6) months of experience (or the equivalent combination of training and experience).




• Skilled using programming languages relevant to designing and building custom software. in an Esri based geomatics environment including .NET, JavaScript, and Python.


• Experience developing custom applications.


• Understanding of Geographic Information Systems, geographic data, and related principals.


• Understanding of relational database technology and how to integrate with Geographic Information Systems.


• Strong inter-personal skills to maintain positive and trusted partner relationships.


• Understanding of municipal utility mapping would be an asset.

Working Conditions

• Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.


• May be required to work overtime on occasion.


• Majority of time spent in an office environment.


• Travel within communities across Nova Scotia may occasionally be required.

Pay Grade: PR 14


Salary Range: $2,653.85 - $3,231.58 Bi-Weekly
