New Found Gold Corp (NFGC) is a leading edge gold exploration company based in Vancouver, Canada. The Company\xe2\x80\x99s Queensway Gold project covers over 165,000 ha of the emerging Gander Gold Belt in central Newfoundland. The Company is well financed with capital balance over $90M and moving forward with an aggressive exploration program including an ongoing 500,000m drilling program planned through 2023. New Found Gold Corp is seeking a Geological Technician to join its team in Central Newfoundland. Position Responsibilities

• Conducting traditional geotechnical measurements of drilling core such as recovery, RQD and preparation of orientation lines and measurements
• Monitoring the quality control and quality assurance of drilling activities
• Working alongside the geological team / drilling crews to address specific challenges of core recovery and drill core orientation
• Operating instrumentation on drill core for spectral, magnetic and XRF analysis
• Preparation of reports and activities updates
• Moving and lifting drill cores

Qualifications

• Technical diploma as a Geological Technician, Engineering Technician or similar field or High School Diploma with significant experience in a similar role
• Minimum 1-year experience working in a similar capacity
• Experience working around heavy equipment
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
• Experience in mineral exploration considered beneficial
• Proficiency with computers, tablets and Microsoft office
• Ability to quickly identify and fix technical challenges
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 22 Kg as well as repetitive motions
• Able to work in all-weather field conditions and familiar with working in remote locations
• Valid Full Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
• Legal to work in Canada

Position Information

• Full time, permanent position

• Position based in Gander, NL
• Able to do shift work (10-hour shifts on a 14-7-day rotational basis) dayshift
• Salary commensurate with experience
• This is not a FIFO position
