Job Description


Reporting to the President, the Database Technician will work closely with Senior Management, Operations, and Project Managers. Key responsibilities will include, but is not limited to; data collection of on site projects performed by our field crews.

Database Technician Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite support for Ground Truth\xe2\x80\x99s field data collection, progress monitoring, quality control (QC), storage and client distribution.
  • Facilitate Training and ongoing mentorship for Ground Truth\xe2\x80\x99s supervisors and field staff on proper data collection and handling methods.
  • Daily QC of all field data collection. Identify and resolve all data errors with field staff.
  • Ensure all incoming data is archived and accessible in readily useable format to authorized end users.
  • Export and maintain current copies of data warehouse contents, adhere to an accessible, well documented structure and format.
  • Produce and maintain reports and insights from data warehouse contents by synthesizing and combining data in valuable ways.
  • Prepare Analytical Requisitions and Monitor sample stream.
  • Perform rigorous QC procedures on incoming laboratory analytical data, merge with field database.
  • Prepare and distribute ongoing QC reports on analytical and field data.
  • Compilation, QC and Storage of Historic datasets
  • Maintain Claims tenure database for select clients for Claim Renewals, Reporting deadlines
  • Prepare assessment reports for the government
  • Prepare weekly operation updates to the client on analytical and field data.
  • Prepare maps for the clients to display assay results/LiDAR data in an effective manner
  • Prepare Analytical Requisitions and Monitor sample stream.
  • Export, synthesize, combine, maintain, and organize data, adhering to an accessible and well documented structure and format.

Requirements:


  • Must have previous experience writing assessment reports
  • Advanced fluency in using QGIS, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and GRASS GIS to process geological data (including LiDAR, Soil Sampling, Drill log, etc) and produce quality maps/database
  • Experienced in working with various types of geological data (i.e. LiDAR, Mag, Assay) and formats (i.e. gpx, kmz, grd, ecw, txt)
  • Must have previous experience using Fulcrum and Looker Studio to handle incoming field data, perform QC, track shipments, and identify and resolve errors.
  • Previous experience working in field exploration as a sampler and geological technician
  • Previous experience working in a geological lab
  • Must have working knowledge of SQL and Python
  • Advanced fluency in Excel and Word, and Google Docs and Google Sheets
  • Ability to communicate with clients of senior level management and labs in a concise and effective manner.
