If you\'re interested in becoming a critical part of an innovative Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Mgt company, Robert Half has an opportunity for a full-time General Accountant. Candidates will need to be capable of rising to a variety of challenges while juggling multiple components of a fast-paced environment. To succeed in this General Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and reconcile general ledger accounts. To succeed in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This Niagara Falls, Ontario area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. If you are a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets, you will thrive in this role. Note that this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite/week.

To be considered for this role, you should be a CPA or in the CPA program. You should have strong attention to detail and be experienced in general accounting and balance sheet reconciliations. You should possess strong Excel skills and have experience with large ERP systems. This is an excellent opportunity for CPA students from public accounting to jump into industry before the start of busy season!

- Be detailed, flexible, and organized

- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics plus CPA designation or enrolment in the CPA program

- Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

- Comprehensive knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

- Expertise in HST

- Deep understanding of Prepare Journal Entries

- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Experience with ERP systems

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
