Game Release Specialist

Job Description




Summary:

The incumbent has the responsibility to manage game deliveries. This includes release calendar proposals, timely closing, overall quality and deployments planning. He or she will be involved in the evolution of the delivery pipeline with a continuous delivery mindset, using both process and technology at his or her disposal.

Responsibilities:

The main and routine tasks of this position are to ensure on time delivery and quality of major and continuous game version deliveries.

Planning / Process

\xc2\xb7 Build the release plan roadmap and keep it maintained;

\xc2\xb7 Uphold quality of game content and player experience;

\xc2\xb7 Actively participate in the performance assessment and the evolution of the delivery pipeline;

\xc2\xb7 Defines and documents the release plan and recommendation for each release;

\xc2\xb7 Ensure releases have passed all required checks and approvals;

\xc2\xb7 Ensure releases documentation timely delivery and quality; (ex: patch notes, known issues, error codes);

\xc2\xb7 Facilitates release planning meeting with key stakeholders;

\xc2\xb7 Communicate product release status to the various stakeholders involved;

Problem solving

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that risks and issues are identified, understood, and dealt with in a manner that mitigates risks to scope and schedule;

\xc2\xb7 Propose mitigation and contingency plans;

\xc2\xb7 Improve closing process;

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with multiple disciplines to surface and resolve issues;

Qualifications

Training:

Degree in management or equivalent training or the equivalent combination of education, training or work experience.

Experience:

5 years of gaming industry expertise.

Experience in shipping and operating online games.

Proven ability to conduct releases with cross-functional stakeholders in organization.

Skills and Knowledge:

\xc2\xb7 Capacity to make important decisions in highly stressful situations;

\xc2\xb7 Rigorous & methodical;

\xc2\xb7 Excellent sense of priorities & time management skill;

\xc2\xb7 Excellent ability for problem solving;

\xc2\xb7 Strong communication skills;

\xc2\xb7 Proven knowledge of areas of expertise in game production process;

\xc2\xb7 Good understanding of game publishing scheme.
