About Us

SuOn Academy is an Ontario Ministry of Education-inspected private high school offering Grades 9-12 (BSID#667183). In addition to our secondary school programs, SuOn Academy operates an Academic Learning Centre that provides structured academic support for younger students in the community (Grades 4-8). These programs take place on our Toronto campus or online and are designed to help students strengthen foundational skills and prepare for future academic success.

We are currently seeking a

G4-G8 Math Instructor

to support our Academic Learning Centre.

Position Summary

The Math Instructor will lead small-group learning sessions for students in Grades 4-8, focusing on building strong numeracy skills, developing problem-solving abilities, and supporting students in understanding key mathematical concepts.

All sessions take place on campus in a school-based learning environment.

Responsibilities

Deliver structured math instruction for students in Grades 4-8 Use provided curriculum materials or develop clear and age-appropriate lesson content Guide students through practice exercises and assist with concept understanding Maintain a positive, supportive, and professional classroom setting Monitor student progress and communicate with the Academic Learning Centre coordinator as needed Participate in occasional training or internal meetings

Qualifications

Required:

Strong proficiency in mathematics suitable for Grades 4-8 Ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently to younger learners University students or graduates in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or related fields are welcome to apply

Preferred:

Previous experience working with elementary or middle-school-age students Familiarity with the Ontario mathematics expectations (Grades 4-8) Experience supporting diverse learners, including multilingual students
