MATH INSTRUCTOR

Bright Minds is an after-school and weekend tutoring program specializing in Mathematics and English writing skills. We aim to help develop effective learners and creative thinkers for life. We run in-person classes in North West Calgary and online classes via Zoom. The Bright Minds program is unique and was developed by the founders of Renert School. We are seeking a dedicated and engaging IN-PERSON math instructor to join our team and deliver our unique curriculum. Our focus is on deep mathematical understanding, mental technique, and creative thinking. We present mathematics in a way that is interesting and fun.

Trained Bright Minds instructors will:

Lead classes of between 4 and 12 students grouped based on their ability level. Present material to children clearly and enthusiastically. Lead group activities that engage and challenge students. Maintain contact with administrators and parents.

Requirements:

You have a love of working with young children and are dedicated to their well-being and education. You have proven, successful experience working with elementary aged children. You feel comfortable explaining elementary mathematical concepts and have an interest in mathematics. You work well as part of a team and take directions well. You are able to work at least two days per week; class times will be either afternoons 4:30 to 7:30 Monday to Thursday, or Saturdays from 10:00 to 2:00 based on your availability and our current demand. You are comfortable teaching in an

in-person environment.

A background in education or home-schooling is highly desirable. Familiarity with Zoom is a plus as there may be an opportunity to expand into online teaching based on demand.

Job Type: Part-time

Wage: $22.50-$35.00 per hour

Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday afternoons and Saturdays. Training is provided.
