Job Overview



Cowichan Green Community (CGC) is seeking a motivated, results-driven individual to oversee and manage a fundraising campaign to secure capital funding for the completion of the CGC Food Hub. This position will focus on cultivating relationships, identifying prospective donors, and driving fundraising efforts to support the growth of this vital community project. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, self-motivated, and passionate about supporting sustainable farming and food security in the Cowichan Region. This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week, six-month contract, with a possible option to extend. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities



? Develop and execute a comprehensive capital fundraising strategy for the Food Hub project, including donor prospecting, solicitations, and stewardship.

? Develop and implement the capital fundraising campaign's communication plan.

? Identify, cultivate, and engage potential donors, sponsors, and investors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

? Manage donor relations, ensuring a positive and consistent experience for supporters throughout the fundraising process.

? Organize and execute fundraising events, donor recognition initiatives, and other campaigns to raise awareness and funding.

? Monitor and track campaign progress, providing regular updates to the Executive Director and Director of Operations.

? Prepare fundraising materials, including proposals, presentations, and reports.

? Manage Social Media and online presence including website for the fundraising campaign.

? Oversee the fundraising campaign budget and ensure financial goals are met.

? Ensure transparency and accountability in all fundraising activities.

? Prepare and submit monthly activity reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Qualifications & Experience



? Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent.

? Significant fundraising experience.

? Excellent communication skills and experience working with the public.

? Working knowledge of donor engagement cycle and gift receipts.

? Working knowledge of Canadian fundraising regulations and tax law is an asset.

? Working knowledge of donor management software is an asset.

? Ability to multitask and work independently.

? Knowledge of Word, Excel, Slack, CANVA, and WordPress.

? Two or more years of experience at a community non-profit organization is an asset.

? Must have a valid Driver's Licence, clean abstract, and reliable vehicle.

Work Expectations



? Work in a busy open-concept office environment.

? Monday to Friday occasional weekends as required.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
