Using trauma informed practice the suppor t worker provides support, security,
advocacy, information, education, crisis intervention and refer rals to residents and / or drop-in clients.
Qualifications:
Diploma in a related human/social service fie ld and one (1) year recent related experience.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and expe rience.
Experience/Skills:
Ability to work with homeless and/or transient individu als.
Knowledge and understanding of substance use, men tal health and co-occurring disorders.
Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Peoples historical trauma.
Strong organizational, problem solving, and communi cation skills.
Be able to work alone or with a team and follow opera ting procedures.
Must be confidential and maintain respectful boundar ies.
Must submit to a criminal record check and sign an Oa th of Confidentiality.
Must have a current Level 1 First Aid and Food Safe C ertificate or be willing to obtain these in a timely manner.
