We are currently hiring 1 Full Time Support Services Worker to join our AbleLiving, York Team! York is a supportive housing program located in Downtown Hamilton in an apartment setting.

This program operates 7 days a week and we currently offer a variety of shifts. This includes days, afternoons and nights, weekends & statutory holidays.

Position Summary:

This position reports to the Program Coordinator and is responsible for a variety of tasks including laundry and housekeeping services, food services and food preparation responsibilities. This position is responsible for collecting, laundering and returning clients\' personal laundry, performing housekeeping tasks in client apartments and common areas, assists the client with maintaining food inventory, meal preparation, setting and serving meals to clients, all while ensuring safe food preparation and handling practices.

Employment Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Grade 10 education or equivalent is preferred
  • Must possess or be able to obtain the Food Handlers Certificate as offered by Public Health Services within 60 days of employment and renewed every 5 years.
  • Must demonstrate a high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively.
  • Must be a strong team player who demonstrates the ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with clients, family members, and colleagues.
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team.
