Summary
A Few Good Lads is seeking experienced
Formwork Carpenters
for opportunities across Canada and the United States. You will be working with major construction firms on commercial, industrial, civil, and infrastructure projects involving heavy concrete work.
Ideal candidates will have solid experience with form setting, concrete structures, and blueprint interpretation. This role is best suited for individuals who are comfortable working in fast-paced environments and committed to producing high-quality work with a strong focus on safety.
Responsibilities & Duties
Construct, install, and dismantle formwork for concrete foundations, walls, slabs, columns, and structures
Build and set up wood, steel, and modular forms
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble form materials to exact dimensions
Install rebar supports, bracing, and hoarding structures
Ensure formwork is properly aligned, secured, and structurally sound
Assist with concrete pours and monitor form integrity
Build chutes and temporary structures for concrete placement
Identify deficiencies and perform required adjustments or repairs
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Mentor apprentices or less experienced carpenters as needed
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience
as a Formwork Carpenter
Experience with commercial, civil, or industrial concrete work
Valid
Fall Protection
certification and own harness
CSTS
&
WHMIS
Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable working in wet, muddy, or fast-changing environments
Strong commitment to safety standards, PPE, and site protocols
