POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Conference Services Director, the Food Services Coordinator assists the Director and Bursar with the management of USMC\xe2\x80\x99s multiple food service operations, monitoring the perform performance of its food services contractors and providing operational management of all leases and service contracts for all University food services vendors and contractors. The Food Services Coordinator works together with the management team to establish and maintain relationships with all tenants. The coordinator will work together with the Director of Conferences to ensure processes and policies are followed to ensure the smooth operation of these services while optimizing the efficiency of service delivery. The Food Services Coordinator oversees operations for multiple points of service to ensure compliance with University of St. Michael\xe2\x80\x99s College standards and related policies and legislation related to the handling and provision of food services. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES \xc2\xb7 Monitors performance of food service contractors ensuring compliance of contracting terms and reports back to Director of Conference Services with any concerns. \xc2\xb7 Review invoices and contracts of food service vendors and report any anomalies to finance. \xc2\xb7 Establish and maintain business relationships with vendors and suppliers \xc2\xb7 Participate in group meetings to promote and assist the marketing of the food program to both internal and external audiences. \xc2\xb7 Collaborate with other departments to provide analysis of the culinary program, identifying efficiencies and areas of opportunity within culinary operations and reporting back to Director and Bursar. \xc2\xb7 Work together with Director of Conference Services to implement quality improvement practices, processes, procedures, or policies that have an impact on University operations. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for tracking business growth, analyzing budgetary items, preparing reports and working with the Director to make recommendations to the Bursar. \xc2\xb7 Attend weekly BEO meetings with Conference services team. \xc2\xb7 Assist with the development of operational standards and inspect locations for compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation \xc2\xb7 Ensure a quality customer service experience for internal and external customers by interacting with students, employees, and visitors; solve complex problems \xc2\xb7 Develop and maintain partnerships with a variety of campus and community constituents \xc2\xb7 Ensure quality customer service, for both internal and external customers, through effective communication and problem solving \xc2\xb7 Collaborate with other departments to better serve customers and guests \xc2\xb7 Collaborate with department leaders to purchase products, equipment and supplies \xc2\xb7 Work together with the Director of Conference Services to develop and implement marketing plans to present to senior leadership \xc2\xb7 Assist with the development operational standards and inspect locations for compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation \xc2\xb7 Evaluate and plan for maintenance of equipment and facilities, recommend purchases of new equipment and may participate in renovations projects for food services and facility upgrades \xc2\xb7 Ensure food quality control procedures are upheld and compliance with all safety and sanitation guidelines are followed \xc2\xb7 Complete special projects and reports as assigned \xc2\xb7 Participate in the research, development and marketing of new products, menus, recipes, and/or concepts \xc2\xb7 Order inventory and supplies; inspect for quality \xc2\xb7 May participate in departmental and University wide initiatives and committees \xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS \xc2\xb7 College Diploma in hospitality, business or nutrition related discipline or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience \xc2\xb7 Experience with technical documentation, flowcharts, and schedules \xc2\xb7 Excellent customer service skills \xc2\xb7 Ability to work with vendors and contractors \xc2\xb7 Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment \xc2\xb7 Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks \xc2\xb7 Strong attention to detail, reading, writing skills \xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal skills exercising professionalism and discretion at all times \xc2\xb7 Problem-solving skills with a keen eye for details \xc2\xb7 Excellent collaboration and communications skills required \xc2\xb7 Experience in with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe applications \xc2\xb7 Experience in maintaining files and processing invoices \xc2\xb7 Ability to exercise diplomacy dealing with staff, students and external contacts \xc2\xb7 Ability to work collaboratively with other office staff, management and external stakeholders \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of St. Michael\xe2\x80\x99s College and the University of Toronto is an asset We thank all applicants for their interest.
