Job Description

Position Overview:



WMG is seeking a reliable and willing to learn Foam Maintenance and Prototype Technician to join our team. As a Foam Maintenance and Prototype Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing foam equipment and the development of new and current foam parts to ensure smooth and efficient operations at our foam manufacturing plants. This role also requires mold setups and adjustments as needed. It may include travel to various plants in Canada, USA and Mexico

Key Responsibilities:



Responsible for maintenance and calibration of mechanical, electrical, components of polyethene foaming machines. Prepare maintenance reports and the evaluation of the gaps between target and actual Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), along with recommending continuous improvements to processes, procedures and/or equipment. Assist in all continuous improvement initiatives for the area and ensures appropriate root cause analysis. Develop and run prototype builds for new foam parts as needed. Maintain inventory of operational supplies, material, and equipment readiness for proto builds. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. Installing new production equipment. Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related foaming equipment. Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines. Troubleshooting and support mechanical breakdowns. Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. Preparing and submitting maintenance reports. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production metering equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems. Change pumps, mixheads and other key process equipment Mold repairs and adjustments on foam molds Prepare mold setup sheets for plant handoffs Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical parts are always available when needed. Adjust robot programs for optimal pour patterns Establish shot size and mix ratios as well as other process parameters related to foaming parts.

Qualifications



Completion of high school or greater Willingness to learn Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician is an asset Some knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Basic computer and report writing skills. Good communication skills. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment. Good time-management skills.

Physical Requirements

: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
