Summary:



The Industrial Maintenance and Machining technician is a skilled and dependable Industrial Maintenance Technician with expertise in mechanical repair, basic electrical troubleshooting, building maintenance, inventory control, and basic welding to support operations at a State Industries Ltd. This role ensures the safe and efficient functioning of industrial equipment, the facility infrastructure and serves a crucial role in ensuring production targets are met by supporting final stage machining or production parts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical abilities and a collaborative approach to working within a team environment.

Responsibilities:



Mechanical Duties:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems including motors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Diagnose mechanical issues using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and thermal imaging.

Dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment to replace or repair defective parts.

Perform basic MIG welding tasks for equipment repair and fabrication.

Cut, shape, and join metal components as needed for maintenance and installation projects.

Ensure all mechanical and welding work meets safety and quality standards.

Maintain welding equipment and supplies in good working condition.

Support the machining department by machining production parts. Depending on demand, machining may intermittently require full days of work.

Electrical Duties:

Conduct minor electrical repairs such as replacing fuses, switches, sensors, and wiring.

Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues related to motors, control panels, and basic PLC inputs/outputs.

Safely use multimeters and other diagnostic tools to test electrical circuits and components.

Support licensed electricians during major electrical projects or upgrades.

Building Maintenance Duties:

Perform routine inspections and repairs of facility infrastructure including doors, windows, walls, ceilings, and flooring.

Maintain HVAC systems, lighting fixtures, plumbing components, and general building utilities.

Respond to work orders related to facility upkeep and ensure timely resolution.

Assist with seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and pest control.

Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Inventory Control Duties:

Monitor and maintain inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.

Track usage and reorder parts to prevent shortages and ensure timely repairs.

Organize and label storage areas for efficient access and accountability.

Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions using CMMS or other tracking systems.

Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams for parts ordering and delivery.

Qualification Requirements:



A: Experience:



Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance; basic electrical, building maintenance, and welding experience required.

Experience with inventory management systems or CMMS preferred.

Safety-conscious with knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and welding safety standards.

B: Education:



High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.

D: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attributes:



Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Read and interpret drawings, rough sketches, blueprints, manuals, and specifications.

Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Proactive and positive thinker and a self-starter.

Using basic hand tools (eg. cordless drills, hand router, files and taps).

Use of precision measuring instruments (eg. calipers) to verify dimensions.

Knowledge of industrial materials.

Working Conditions



Working in a noisy environment. Standing/walking for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Work Safe



Steel toed shoes are required. Employee must provide own safety shoes. Safety glasses are required. Employee must provide own safety glasses. Must adhere to established policies and procedure Must always wear PPE
