What You'll Be Doing
Troubleshoot and repair facility and equipment issues, including HVAC malfunctions, plumbing leaks, electrical faults, and conveyor or production equipment breakdowns.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
Carry out preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and building systems to minimize unplanned downtime.
Ensure timely response to maintenance requests while prioritizing tasks to reduce operational downtime.
Support the installation, relocation, and commissioning of new machinery and facility systems.
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or maintenance services.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance logs, and inventory of spare parts on computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and maintain compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Monitor and maintain building infrastructure such as lighting, doors, docks, ceilings, and flooring.
Support facility audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
What You Can Expect
Physical ability to lift up to 50lb(~23kg).
Travel to the site, and secondary locations will be required.
Safety equipment will be required when working in the production floor, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, smock/coat, gloves, etc.
Working after-hours as required.
Hazards associated with the trade.
Work both indoors and outdoors.
Exposed to construction sites during any renovation
Work in temperature-controlled environments, including coolers and freezers.
What We Are Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a facilities or maintenance technician, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety.
Proficient in troubleshooting and repair techniques for equipment-related issues.
Familiarity with relevant tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
Effective communication skills to interact with team members, contractors, and vendors.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
Additional certifications in trades, electrical, HVAC, or other technical areas are considered an asset.
