The Retail Store Manager oversees daily operations, coordinates staff, manages inventory, and ensures customer satisfaction in a floral retail environment. Key tasks include but not limited to order processing, floral design, and financial management.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare floral orders.
Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability of the flower shop.
Execute marketing campaigns to promote the flower shop and its products.
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock.
Responsible for waste management.
Oversee day to day floral operations including: stocking shelves, placing orders, reviewing invoices, managing floral associates and providing mentoring.
Create and maintain a visually appealing and welcoming store environment.
Manage and supervise a team of employees, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Ensure high-quality customer service is provided to all customers.
Keep the shop clean and tidy at all times (sweep, mop, dust as required).
Create floral displays, wreaths and bouquets using flowers, plants, dried flowers, wire, tape, and foam -- based on either your own designs, from design books or customers' requirements
Controlling payroll budget and scheduling staff efficiently;
Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times.
Must be able to work any and all shifts, working a varied schedule in order to have the best overview of department operations. This means the ability to work weekends & holidays, openings & closings as necessary; including extended hours during the 3 major flower industry holidays: Christmas, Valentines Day and Mother's Day.
Maintaining Health and Safety Standards as defined under the Health and Safety Act.
Requirements:
Ideally, 2 years of experience in a similar role in the flower industry.
A minimum of 2 years of management experience.
Strong knowledge or desire to learn about flowers, plants, and floral design.
Ability to manage and motivate a team of florists; lead by example.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to build relationships with customers
Experience in inventory management and ordering of supplies
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to create and execute marketing strategies to promote the business
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Bilingual English/French (when applicable)
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace

Veiller a ce qu'un service client de haute qualite soit fourni a tous les clients.
Garder l'atelier propre et bien range en tout temps (balayage, vadrouille, epoussetage au besoin).
Creez des compositions florales, des couronnes et des bouquets en utilisant des fleurs, des plantes, des fleurs sechees, du fil, du ruban adhesif et de la mousse, en vous basant sur vos propres creations, a partir de livres de conception ou des exigences des clients.
Controler le budget de paie et planifier efficacement le personnel ;
Maintenir une apparence, une attitude et une attitude professionnelles a tout moment.
Doit etre capable de travailler sur tous les quarts de travail, en travaillant selon un horaire varie afin d'avoir le meilleur apercu des operations du departement. Cela signifie la capacite de travailler les week-ends et les jours feries, aux ouvertures et fermetures si necessaire ; y compris des horaires prolonges pendant les 3 grandes fetes de l'industrie florale : Noel, la Saint-Valentin et la fete des meres.
Maintenir les normes de sante et de securite telles que definies dans la Loi sur la sante et la securite.
Exigences:
Idealement, deux ans d'experience dans un role similaire dans l'industrie florale.
Un minimum de deux ans d'experience en gestion.
Solide connaissance -- ou desir d'apprendre -- des fleurs, des plantes et de la conception florale.
Capacite a gerer et motiver une equipe de fleuristes; mener par l'exemple.
Excellentes competences en service a la clientele et capacite a etablir des relations avec les clients
Experience en gestion des stocks et commande de fournitures
Solides competences organisationnelles et souci du detail
Capacite a creer et executer des strategies de marketing pour promouvoir l'entreprise
Excellentes competences interpersonnelles, organisationnelles et de communication
Bilingue anglais/francais
Maitrise de Microsoft Office et de Google Workplace
