Job Summary

Join our vibrant floral retail team as a Flower Shop Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will provide exceptional customer service and assist in making sure the shop runs smoothly. In this role, you will assist with daily shop operations, assisting customers with floral orders, for pick up and delivery, be comfortable with pos systems, be knowledgable about types of flowers, process fresh flowers, unpack and price supplies, maintain a clean retail and work space. Ability to merchandise well and understand verbal direction is a must. You must be able to multitask, and prioratize jobs throughout the day. Being to switch from one job and back as the work flow can change very quickly.

Duties

Assist customers in selecting flowers, plants, and related products, offering knowledgable guideance on floral arrangements and delivery options. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop, including displays and workstations Support floral design by prepping containers, properly wrapping bouquets and arrangements for clients and displays Manage stock levels by receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and organizing inventory efficiently Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions, cash handling, and processing payments accurately Provide excellent customer service organize daily deliveries and communicate with design team, drivers and clients Social media skills and canva would be ideal

Requirements

background in floral related business is a strong asset Strong communication skills Previous experience with retail sales, cashiering or POS systems is preferred but not required Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks packing and unpacking boxes (up to 40lbs) Scrubbing buckets and vases, moving buckets of flowers ( up to 40lbs) Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for merchandising and inventory management Knowledge of retail math principles including cash handling and sales calculations Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and positive approach Delivery flower arrangements as needed

This is a weekend and holiday heavy role. Hours will vary based on the needs of the shop.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
