Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join the team at Karen's Flower Shop. As a beloved local business, we are excited to showcase our newly renovated, beautiful storefront! The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven track record in retail or store management, ideally within a creative or floral environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the high operational standards of our business. The Assistant Manager will support daily operations, oversee staff, and ensure exceptional customer service, all while maintaining efficient store functions and upholding the high visual standards of our newly upgraded space.

Key Responsibilities



Retail Operations & Presentation:

Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, with a focus on maintaining the

pristine condition and appealing display

of our renovated storefront.

Team Leadership & Motivation:

Supervise and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service that complements our high-end environment.

Staff Development:

Oversee employee orientation, training, and development programs, including specific training on floral arrangement handling, presentation, and sales techniques.

Inventory & Merchandising:

Manage floral, plant, and gift inventory control, stock replenishment, and

creative merchandising

to optimize product presentation within the new design.

Store Standards:

Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards, with a special emphasis on keeping our fresh flowers and plants in optimal condition.

Administrative Support:

Perform administrative tasks related to store records and general upkeep.

Qualifications



Experience:

Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within a retail environment; experience with perishables or a specialty store (e.g., floral, boutique, gourmet) is a strong asset.

Leadership & Teamwork:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, inspire, and develop a diverse team.

Organizational Skills:

Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail in inventory management, visual merchandising, and store operations.

Communication & Service:

Effective communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Multi-Tasking:

Ability to handle multiple responsibilities such as merchandising, stocking, and administrative tasks simultaneously.

Attitude:

A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on operational excellence, team management, and maintaining the stunning aesthetic of our renovated shop.
