Carpenters

(GRT) -

Flooring installers

at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state, GRTs use the skills of flooring installers, carpenters, drywallers, painters--and magicians! Making clients believe magic has happened is all part of a day for a GRT.

Responsible for...

The multi-talented GRT is skilled in the following ways:

Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts Flooring installation Framing Drywalling, mudding, sanding and finishing Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim, landscapes, and portraiture not included) Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing Insulation and vapour barrier installation Being awesome, in general! Installation Doors Trim, moldings, and baseboards Hardware installation Cabinetry

Additional abilities required include:

Experience working in construction environments Tools and the skills to use them Strong people and communication skills Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do A safety mindset Valid drivers license Ability to pass a criminal record check Ability to communicate in English

Other stuff that'll help you be successful but isn't mandatory:

Skilled trades ticket (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker) IICRC certification (restoration focus) WHMIS First Aid

Of Note

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour

Please describe your experience with flooring installation, what type of flooring have you installed before? Which tools are you used to using to install flooring? How many years of experience in demolition do you have? What type of demolition have you done before? Do you consider yourself to be a multi-skilled trades person? This position requires a versatile Carpenter that can do various in-home renovations. If it is not obvious on your resume, what are your in-home Carpentry skills? Which hand and power tools have you used before? Please describe your experience and comfort level: Restoration work requires documentation and tracking throughout your work day. Do you have basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience?
