Position Summary




Manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Responsibilities will encompass managing a team of fleet administrators, maintaining accurate records of vehicles, drivers, and maintenance activities, and coordinating vehicle procurement and disposal processes. Additionally, will collaborate with other departments to optimize fleet operations, enforce safety standards, and enhance efficiency.


What you will do




Provide people-focused leadership to Technicians and the Shop Service Writer, including scheduling, coaching, performance management, and training. Oversee daily shop operations to ensure quality, efficient, and cost-effective repairs and maintenance. Plan, prioritize, and schedule repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks. Ensure accurate documentation and use of maintenance software for work orders and repair history. Maintain and manage inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts. Build and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, including parts procurement and warranty support. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs to reduce breakdowns and improve fleet uptime. Monitor and analyze maintenance metrics and costs to identify opportunities for improvement. Manage the shop budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control strategies.

What You'll Bring




Demonstrated experience as a Shop Supervisor, Shop Foreman, Fleet Maintenance Lead, or equivalent, with responsibility for teams and maintenance operations. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team in a fast-paced maintenance environment. Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to build technician capabilities and improve performance. Mechanic experience would be an asset College diploma
