The
Prefabrication Shop Manager
will lead and develop a team of Trade Workers and shop employees, oversee material and equipment management, and drive process improvements to optimize workflow efficiency.
We are looking for a strong Manager and Leader, but you don't have to have experience in the Shop or Construction industry to excel in this position! S&R is known as a top collaborative team with strong training and support, you will be set up to win!

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:
Plan and oversee daily shop production to align with project schedules
Coordinate prefabrication orders, and allocate resources accordingly
Maintain and enforce Health and Safety policies and adhere to safe work procedures
Enforce quality assurance and quality control standards
Hire, onboard, and train new team members; promote skill development by giving giving regular feedback
Provide daily leadership, guidance, and coaching to the team, fostering accountability and performance
Oversee ordering, receiving, storage, and issuance of materials, tools, and consumables with the Tool Coordinator
Attend Company meetings as required
Oversee shipping and receiving functions, coordinating timely deliveries with in-house drivers
Manage and oversee Tool Crib Coordinator (deliveries, inspections, repairs etc.)
Maintain Shop equipment (prefab machines, welding machines, threading machines etc.)
Manage company fleet, including maintenance, scheduling, and safety inspections
Maintain and manage shop inventory
Prepare and present shop performance reports
Ad-hoc projects
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of Supervisory or management experience
Knowledge of plumbing, mechanical and gas codes is an asset
Open minded individual willing to embrace learning and development - this individual does not have to have Shop or Construction experience but must be open to learn and receive daily feedback
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, scheduling and process improvement techniques
Bilingualism is an asset
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of Canadian Building Code and Ontario and/or Quebec Code is an asset
Must be self-motivated, have leadership, planning and organizational skills
Must have overall strong technical computer skills
Valid Driver's License with a clean drivers abstract
