Priority given to a couple or two-person team as this role has additional income opportunity for a second person to assist with Saturday changeover cabin cleaning and beginning of season cabin cleaning.
This is a full-time, seasonal position, working from end-April to mid/end of October. You will work 6 days a week with Wednesday usually as your day off. Individuals with a reduced availability (ex. May - August) will still be considered.
This is a live on-site only position to be accessible in case of a camp emergency. You will be the daily contact person for the guests and the ability to handle the associated responsibilities is required. Management can always be reached by phone/text, if not on-site.
Responsibilities:
Your activities (we will train you when necessary) will include but not limited to the following:
General maintenance and repair of the property, as directed
Cutting of lawn via push mower and trimer, and weeding and raking
Maintain the cleanliness of the two shower rooms
Power wash boats, wood decks, exterior of cabins, done once a season
Rake grounds in the spring and rake and bag leaves in the fall
Working in both indoor and outdoor settings and in good and bad weather
Cleaning the fish cleaning building and attending to the disposal of the fish remains multiple times daily, if required
Continuously provide strong customer service to guests
Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch
Overseeing the recycling bins and the garbage and putting items out weekly for Municipal collection
Instruct the guests in the use of rental boats & motors (very rare activity)
Any other task as assigned by the Manager
Qualifications:
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to operate all maintenance equipment (i.e. lawn mower, trimmer, etc.)
Hard working, reliable, and focused on providing exceptional customer service
Personable and able to engage with a mainly American clientele
Ability to prioritize daily work tasks and adapt to changing priorities
Some handyperson skills are preferred, but not required
Be in good physical shape to complete yard and maintenance tasks - can lift 50 pounds
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Basic math skills to handle cash payments and deal with US foreign exchange - training will be provided
Already eligible to work legally in Canada
Be able to speak English fluently
Certification:
Boating License
First Aid certificate (If not already in possession, employer will arrange enrollment in a course. Course cost will be reimbursed by employer after employment has commenced.)

Cedar Haven Cottages Ltd. is a family friendly fishing camp. We have a mostly American clientele. Close to 90% of our clientele are annual renters and have been coming for many years.
