Job Summary

:
We are seeking a talented, hardworking, and reliable Cook to join our remote fly-in fishing camp for the season. As a key member of the team, the Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for camp guests and staff, maintaining a clean kitchen environment, and ensuring that dietary needs and preferences are met. This position requires a passion for cooking, the ability to work in a remote environment, and a strong focus on providing exceptional service to guests.

Key Responsibilities

:

Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for camp guests and staff, ensuring meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and meet dietary restrictions or preferences. Follow a 4 day rotation menu, create shopping lists, and ensure proper stock levels of food and supplies are maintained. Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Able to work flexibly throughout the day, with the majority of tasks occurring in the morning and evening Assist with food storage, inventory management, and waste disposal. Collaborate with camp managers and staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Manage and work within a budget for food and supplies. Provide special meals or adjustments as needed for guests with specific dietary needs (e.g., allergies, vegetarian, gluten-free). Oversee the cleanliness and safety of all kitchen equipment and utensils. Work efficiently with limited resources in a remote setting.

Qualifications

:

Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a remote, camp, or hospitality setting. Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Ability to handle and adapt to changing conditions and demands. Comfortable working in a remote, rustic environment with limited amenities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse guests and staff. A passion for providing great food and ensuring a positive guest experience. Certification in food safety or culinary training is a plus. Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including lifting supplies and working long hours.

Working Conditions

:

Remote fly-in location with limited access to outside services. Private living accommodations and communal spaces with camp staff and guests. Seasonal employment, typically from spring to fall, with the potential for return employment in subsequent seasons.
