Financial Operations Manager
-- a professional who can own our financial ecosystem with precision, independence, and intelligence.
This is not entry-level bookkeeping. It's an operational finance leadership role for someone who thrives in autonomy and takes pride in bringing clarity and control to a growing small business.
The Role
Schedule:
18-20 hours per week (3-4 days, ~6 hours/day)

You'll oversee all day-to-day and monthly financial operations -- integrating bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, and compliance into one coherent system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Reporting
Maintain accurate, reconciled financials across three operating locations.
Prepare monthly P&L statements, cash flow summaries, and management reports.
Track performance metrics per location and identify financial trends.
2. Payroll Oversight
Transition and manage payroll (via ADP or equivalent).
Implement a two-step review process for accuracy and transparency.
3. Bookkeeping & Compliance
Handle daily bookkeeping, expense categorization, and reconciliations.
Ensure all CRA filings, GST, and remittances are up to date.
Liaise directly with the CPA (Gurbir Sekhon) and Tax Advisor (Yvonne Chu).
4. Strategic & Administrative Support
Maintain separate banking and payroll accounts by location.
Support leadership with budgeting, projections, and financial planning.
Provide insight and structure -- not just data entry.
Ideal Candidate
5+ years of experience in
small business accounting, bookkeeping, or controller-level work.
Strong understanding of
QuickBooks
,
Wagepoint
, and Excel/Google Sheets.
Clear communicator who enjoys system-building and clean processes.
Comfortable working autonomously, reporting directly to ownership.
Based in Canada, ideally in BC (hybrid flexibility).
