As part of the Culture Grants Unit, you'll play a key role in managing the full cycle of annual transfer payment programs, from planning and analysis to reporting and modernization. Your work will be varied and impactful, with responsibilities that include:



leading financial and business planning for the branch preparing reports to support decision-making and meet reporting requirements advising on financial policy, compliance, and risk managing transfer payment funding administration, including assessing grant funding applications coordinating procurement and contract processes collaborating with policy teams to support program modernization and improvement

Accounting, transfer payment and contract management knowledge




You have:

knowledge of accounting principles and financial practices, including budgeting, forecasting, auditing, and interpreting financial statements to support accurate reporting and analysis understanding of transfer payment processes, expenditure tracking, and risk/variance analysis to ensure compliance with OPS and Ministry requirements familiarity with procurement practices and contract management, with the ability to support or lead transfer payment and procurement activities in alignment with government policies

Analytical and organizational skills




You have:

ability to interpret directives and policies, assess financial data and financial performance, identify cost efficiencies, and support strategic decision-making planning and prioritization skills to manage multiple deadlines and integrate information from various sources

Communication and interpersonal skills




You have:


collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and make recommendations on grant applications or unit processes clear written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports, briefing notes, and provide program information to various audiences proficiency in standard computer applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to create spreadsheets, presentations and manage data, and ability to learn new financial systems and tools
