As Coinsquare\xe2\x80\x99s Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in contributing to the company\xe2\x80\x99s success! This role is for you if you have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a desire to be in a fast-paced tech environment. will manage and oversee all accounting operations for Coinsquare.

This position will be reporting to the Director of Finance. A successful candidate will seek to continuously improve internal controls over financial transactions and financial reporting while managing and developing an existing team of talented accounting professionals. What you\'ll be doing

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, Consolidation, Digital Assets Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
• Develop and coach the accounting team to streamline and complete the month-end and quarter-end close process in a timely manner and identify workflow improvements.
• Prepare monthly financial statements/reports to the senior Finance management team in an accurate and timely manner; Provide value-added insights based and variance analysis of management accounts.
• Support the financial reporting team during quarterly financial statement preparation.
• Reviewing management accounts against budget and providing variance analysis.
• Manage and coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and tax filings.
• Prepare MFR (Monthly Financial Review), a quarterly survey from Statistics Canada, weekly RAC reporting to IIROC and other financial presentations.
• Management and coordination of an external annual financial audit, support the financial reporting team during annual financial statements preparation and successful resolution of observations and findings.
• Support Finance management in driving strategic initiatives.
• Involvement in ad hoc requests or projects from the CFO and Finance Team including drafting of whitepapers and technical accounting memos under IFRS.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring

• 5+ years of overall accounting experience, ideally including experience gained from working at a Big 4 Accounting firm
• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or Assistant Controller.
• CA and/or CPA designation.
• Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Familiarity with IFRS and technical accounting
• Experience with OSC and IIROC (Form 1, MFR) Reporting.
