FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Aqualitas is seeking a Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as management of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CFO your work will include but not limited to the following:

• 
  Oversee the organizations overall accounting systems, procedures and policies
• Preparation of timely and reliable IFRS financial statements and other reporting for internal and external users
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions
• Manage and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements
• Manage business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Prepare year-end working papers and manage audit process with external auditors
• Oversee all CRA filings: GST/HST, excise, etc.
• Prepare annual operating and capital budgets
• Manage and mentor direct reports and review work on an ongoing basis
• Other duties as required and assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer
• Adhere to all Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Good Production Practices (GPP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (CPA), with at least 5 years previous job experience
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working in ERP environment would be an asset
• Hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

• 
  Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Experience handling budgets and forecasting/reporting results
• Knowledge of the Cannabis Industry is a definite asset, including accounting for biological assets
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage/execute multiple ongoing projects
• Knowledge of GMP and GPP is an asset
• Ability to act independently and as a team member
• Attention to detail and accuracy including thorough documentation abilities
• Adaptability and flexibility
• Ability to prioritize activities and adjust priorities on short notice
• Excellent comprehension, communication and interpersonal skills
