Financial ControllerLOCATION | Reporting to: PresidentPOSITION OVERVIEW: The Financial Controller will be responsible for providing Hoffmann Kool with effective and timely financial management and analysis. This individual will play a vital role in the creation of a financial strategy for the overall company, and will be responsible for bookkeeping, accounting, budgeting, financial, and regulatory reporting. The Financial Controller will provide advice on how the company can meet its year-over-year financial objectives.The ideal candidate will need to be a strong team player and have the skills to anticipate new problems and provide forward thinking solutions. The individual will also need to build relationships with key stakeholders in each of our business divisions in order to help them achieve division objectives as well.RESPONSIBILITIES: REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or
  • Responsible for full accounting cycle and day-to-day related field accounting operations, including AP/AR, receipts/deposits, disbursements, accounting for transactions per accounting Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, policies, reconciling, and maintaining accounting controls, CGA) required and in good standing payroll related to reporting, planning, and cash management.
  • Experience within the insurance industry or experience within a brokerage environment
  • Close month end and process journal entries considered an asset
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including Minimum Experience: Minimum of 5 years variance analysis, production, new business, growth, profits, of proven controller experience trends, costs, tracking to financial metrics
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and payroll
  • Overseeing financial processes and procedures and ensuring systems and processes that the proper controls are put in place for data integrity
  • Solid experience coordinating accounts
  • Enter and track commission revenue by division and ensure payable and receivable, general ledger, amounts received are accurate payroll, and accounting for investments and tax preparation
  • Manage cash flow and analysis for free cash flow distributions Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Responsible for overseeing the budgeting & forecasting Strong verbal and written communication process, working closely with stakeholders across the business, preparing individual sales budgets, and consolidation of final Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, output PowerPoint, and Outlook
