Robert Half is reviewing candidates for a renowned services company for an ambitious, determined Controller. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Toronto, Ontario region.

What you get to do every single day:

• Coordinate and consolidate financial planning activities including forecasting and budgeting

• Reporting and monitoring against budget

• Cash Flow - ensure adequate cash flow to meet business needs

• Accounts Receivable - ensure timely collection of accounts receivable

• Accounts payable - establish controls to manage disbursements, ensuring compliance with vendor terms.

• Audit - ensure financial statements are in accordance with established accounting standards

• Banking - ensure compliance with bank covenants

• Analyze statements and cost control reports for expenses

• Ensure financial records are maintained

• Provide positive and constructive leadership, coaching, mentorship, and direction to the team etc.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related program

• Accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CGA)

• Minimum of 5 years\' experience in progressively senior Finance roles

• Sound leadership, staff management, and team building skills

• Working experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP system

• Strong financial planning, analysis and forecasting skills

• Experience with Analyze Trends

• General familiarity with Annual Budget

• Excellent attention to detail

• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company

• Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

• Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
