Your Opportunity
As Financial Analyst, you will support the Finance Director of the Energy & Resources Business Operating Unit (BOU) which encompasses the Energy and Mining, Minerals & Metals Business Lines. You will be responsible for reporting and analysis of monthly Actuals, Forecasts, Variances & KPI trending. You will also provide monthly Operational reporting and work closely with our Finance and Operational Teams.
Your Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial and operational reporting for BOU Leadership and assist with follow up.
Compiling, reviewing & reconciling financial data using Excel, SmartView & Data Visualizer, then further performing analysis and preparing summary of findings.
Compiling, reviewing & reporting Project Portfolio, Business Center and Regional data for the KPI reporting.
Develop automated reporting and preparing models for and supporting Leadership in the development of annual operating, shared services and capital budgets, as well as financial forecasts.
Gathering source data to assist in the compilation of complicated bids & pricing models.
Conducting earned value assessments and project reviews, highlighting projects with financial risk to ensure revenue is recognized appropriately. Simultaneously, reviewing contracts to highlight clauses that may impact revenue recognition.
Analyzing Marketing & Business Development investments for comparison against budget and calculating the Return on Investment.
Collaborating with both internal and external auditors on specific requests that help support internal controls and the external audit.
Assisting in the preparation and oversight of the Canadian Vehicle Taxable Benefit assessment program.
Supporting Finance Director and Financial Managers routinely, including ad hoc data gathering, modeling, analysis, and reporting.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with various stakeholders
Strong business acumen, financial, analytical, multi-tasking and organizational skills
A high degree of accuracy in data and financial processing
Advanced Excel and data modeling skills; understanding of Power Pivot and PowerBI and Data Visualizer is a plus
A strong customer service approach with excellent problem solving and skills
Ability to work independently to firm deadlines and to manage multiple competing priorities
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
Education and Experience
Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Business or Commerce or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience. Previous experience in the professional services industry is considered an asset.
