About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Ops Accounting & Reporting, the Financial Analyst is responsible for providing finance support to Joint Venture reporting, Exploration reporting, and various other scopes. This includes supporting the compilation and submission of budgets, forecasts, and monthly reports to our various Joint Venture partners. This role will also be heavily involved in joint venture audits, ensuing timely close out, and compliance with deadlines. This role also responds to ad hoc queries and participates in various projects as required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet strict and occasionally moving deadlines is required.

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with various joint venture requirements; Monthly reports, Budgets, etc.

Facilitate Joint Venture Audits ensuring timely resolutions and close out.

Balance-sheet clean up and maintenance.

Complete general ledger reviews and prepare monthly journal entries and accruals.

Work with scope owners to provide commentary on cost variances.

Prepare a variety of reports and presentations for internal and external partners.

Document financial procedures and processes and find opportunities for improvement.

Ensure effective governance via the development and enforcement of financial controls.

Promote financial discipline, cost effectiveness, and commercial awareness.

Respond to ad hoc queries and/or participate in various projects as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent. CPA designation is preferred.

Minimum 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience preferred.

Experience in SAP an asset.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong technical accounting skills and financial competence.

Strict attention to detail and accuracy, with a proven ability to work independently, multi-task and meet strict and occasionally moving deadlines.

Strong organizational, interpersonal and team skills.
