OverviewDo you have experience in financial accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, financial analysis, and finance-related research & analysis? We have an opportunity for a financial analyst to join a team responsible for maintaining financial accounting sub-ledgers and books of account, and providing consultation to management regarding the budget preparation and accounting related matters. In addition, youll perform analysis regarding a variety of variance and costs related reports, research and write corporate financial policies and procedures, and prepare financial briefing notes and presentations for senior management.How youll make a difference: Youll help protect the financial integrity of B.C.s workers compensation system.Where youll workWorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.What you\'ll do

• Maintain financial accounting sub-ledgers and prepare financial reports and working papers
• Provide a consultative service to clients regarding the accounting process
• Prepare a variety of financial cost analyses from a historical and projected perspective
• Assist in developing and drafting accounting and related policies and procedures
• Exhibit aptitude in maintaining books of accounts and financial analysis

Your background and experience

• A Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or any related discipline
• A professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA)
• A minimum of two years of related experience in financial accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, financial analysis, and finance-related research & analysis.
• Knowledge of financial policies and procedures and business process risk and control procedures
