This role sits within Laurentian Bank.

The incumbent reports to the Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis. The successful candidate ideally to have knowledge of Capital Markets products and will be responsible for supporting P&L analysis and reporting, assisting budgets and forecasts, monitoring financial results, and preparing various reports for the Capital Markets, as well as supporting process improvement and financial report modernization.

The candidate is also responsible for providing business insights by acting as a financial business partner with each business leaders within Capital Markets. The work covers preparing financial statements, establishing financial analysis, and monitoring and reporting on financial results.

Responsibilities


\xc2\xba Support business leaders in Capital Markets by preparing, analyzing, and reporting on the monthly P&L results, providing information as required to help the business partners and management team better understand their financial results.
\xc2\xba Prepare various financial reports with meaningful insights for senior management and business partners as needed.
\xc2\xba Provide support in the monthly rolling forecast and annual financial planning cycle, facilitate key assumptions to drive high quality forecasts and support the preparation of annual budget.
\xc2\xba Facilitate discussions around financial results, financial analysis, forecast and budget with business leaders; establish partnership with business leaders by going beyond numbers to think from business perspective, identify the financial challenges they are facing and help them meet financial targets.
\xc2\xba Improve and document month end process by automating certain manual processes, improve and document forecast and budget process by optimizing current templates, automating the process of generating system input files and validating the output accuracy.
\xc2\xba Partner with the Accounting and Regulatory Reporting team to ensure accurate and timely data are recorded and presented
\xc2\xba Deliver accurate and insightful ad hoc financial analyses and reports to influence decision making

Qualifications


\xc2\xba University education with a bachelor\'s degree in Finance, accounting, or related field
\xc2\xba 2-3 years of working experience in banking industry as financial analyst or similar role
\xc2\xba Professional certification or progress towards professional designation an asset (CPA, CFA).
\xc2\xba Proficiency in the Office suite (especially Excel, Macros, VBA, and PowerPoint).
\xc2\xba Proficiency in the Oracle Essbase application an asset.
\xc2\xba Working knowledge of financial markets products and activities
\xc2\xba Excellent verbal and written communication skills
\xc2\xba Shows Autonomy, Initiative, Teamwork and Responsiveness
\xc2\xba Bilingual French an asset
