Finance Manager

Job Description


Our client, a leader in engineering and manufacturing optimization, is looking to hire a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accounting and financial functions of the company. The Finance Manager will be reporting to the Managing Partner of the organization and his/her duties will include, but will not be limited to:

\xc2\xb7 Lead a team of 7 direct reports - Ontario and Quebec

\xc2\xb7 Maintain general ledger, prepare trial balance and financial statements

\xc2\xb7 Oversee general accounting operation function including reconciliations, A/R, A/P, payroll

\xc2\xb7 Month-end close, accruals, journal entries, fixed asset management, depreciation schedules

\xc2\xb7 Preparation and filing of provincial and federal tax returns. HST

\xc2\xb7 Treasury management, monitor covenants, cash flow, capital expenditure forecasting

\xc2\xb7 Assist with preparation of monthly and annual consolidated financial statements and reporting package for MD& A

\xc2\xb7 Preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flow variance analysis and reporting

\xc2\xb7 Assess, evaluate, maintain, and document internal control system, processes and policies

\xc2\xb7 Serve as the main point of contact with external accounting firm and auditors

\xc2\xb7 Identify opportunities to improve financial and operational effectiveness

Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 Undergraduate degree in accounting, commerce, or business

\xc2\xb7 CPA designation with strong technical accounting skills

\xc2\xb7 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance functions

\xc2\xb7 Extensive experience in A/R, A/P, and payroll. WSIB, T4

\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis

\xc2\xb7 Familiar with Business Central, MS Dynamics Great Plains and exposure to system implementations and business transformation

\xc2\xb7 Ability to meet tight and ongoing deadlines

\xc2\xb7 Above average communication and problem-solving skills

\xc2\xb7 Willing to work in the office 5 days a week
