Reporting to the Controller, as the Finance Manager, you\'ll lead a talented team responsible for regulated utility operations, unregulated generation companies, and corporate service portfolios, along with the following duties;- Oversee and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the month-end and year-end closing and reporting processes, including variance analysis review and preparation of consolidation entries for stakeholder reporting.
- Lead a team handling financial responsibilities for regulated utilities, unregulated generation companies, and corporate service portfolios.
- Stay updated with IFRS and conduct investigations for unique financial transactions as needed.
- Coordinate and review MD&A reporting for the board, as well as monthly KPI reports, quarterly financial packages, and year-end audit working files.
- Contribute to the preparation of capital and operating budgets/forecasts, taking a leading role in key areas as necessary.
- Provide support to the accounting teams of each company, ensuring proper expenditure classification, reviewing and approving journal entries, and preparing/reviewing general ledger reconciliations.
- Offer leadership and staff development, including handling human resources activities such as hiring, terminations, performance reviews, setting objectives, and training.
- Maintain an effective system of internal controls by adhering to sound accounting practices and procedures in line with IFRS, making efficiency recommendations, and ensuring proper documentation of processes and controls.
- Support finance systems and tools, including ERP, CPM, and other reporting solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties and ad hoc projects as assigned by the Director.Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in a service-oriented business.
- CPA designation is required.
- Proficiency in IFRS accounting principles, concepts, and practices.
- Experience in a rate-regulated environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with finance systems and tools is a plus.
- Experience with FP&A and cost allocation models is beneficial.
- 3-5 years of relevant supervisory or managerial experience.
- Visionary and strategic leader with the ability to develop and implement a technology strategy to advance and future-proof the business.
