Job Description

Signature Supplements Inc. is seeking a Finance Manager that will lead all financial activities for the organization. This newly created role will be responsible for financial administration with bookkeeping and accounting activities, reporting, budget management, risk assessment and management, and working on strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, as well as knowledge of financial systems and regulations. They possess experience in a manufacturing environment contributing to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategy development. This role will be essential in the implementation of a new ERP system including workflow development, process mapping, and tying into inventory, product costing, and sales.

We are an independently owned and operated company with 60 employees and over 27 years in business.

Responsibilities:



Finance Administration



Support and review accounts receivable activities with payment processing and reconciliation Ensure customer account terms are maintained, provide monthly account statements, and handle collections Accounts payable activities including invoice entry, filing, verification against the Purchase Order received and posting entries, including those with exchange rates for imported materials Manage and issue payments including vendors, employee expenses, and contractors Complete bank reconciliations and pre-paid expense allocations HST and corporate tax filing and payments Capital asset tracking Posting of payroll entries, tracking employee loans, and monitoring wage garnishments Monitor employee benefits programs for health benefits and group savings, ensuring accurate payroll deductions and rate changes Review annual rates for Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) and update systems accordingly

Reporting, Budget Management, & Risk Management



Oversee the allocation and management of financial resources Prepare, analyze and present financial statements, cash flow statements, reports, and business performance metrics Facilitate annual operating budget development, provide recommendations on areas for investment and ensure spending is within set budgetary guidelines Monitor product costing, margins, and discounts to ensure they are appropriately set for profitability Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect the organization from potential losses Evaluate insurance and liability coverage and monitor renewal schedules

Strategic Initiatives & Process Improvement



Develop, implement and manage new ERP workflows for all financial activities and provide training for financial workflows Evaluate and recommend business investment opportunities to maximize returns Develop forecasts to guide the organization's financial strategy and decision-making Research, recommend, and apply for grants and funding as they relate to business initiatives Develop and monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) models for all product lines Identify and develop areas for improvement in financial processes and policies Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:



BA degree or diploma in Accounting, Business or Finance, CPA designation is preferred 5+ years of related accounting, financial analysis, or auditing experience Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with financial systems in an ERP software considered an asset Outstanding financial and analytical skills Working knowledge of relevant financial laws and regulations Ability to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner Strong work ethic and collaborative team attitude Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Fantastic organizational and time management skills
