About the Role
As a Finance Coordinator, you will have:
Financial Acumen & Compliance:
Knowledge in accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting, including full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and CRA compliance. Ensures accuracy, resolves discrepancies, and maintains transparency to meet legal obligations.
Adaptability to Change:
Adjusts to evolving regulations, priorities, and technologies. Balances multiple tasks, learns new systems quickly, and maintains accuracy under shifting deadlines. Proactively solves problems to ensure smooth operation.
Collaboration & Communication

:
Strong interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and external partners. Clearly explains financial concepts, collaborates on budgets/reporting, and builds effective relationships. Service-oriented approach to resolve issues efficiently.
Analytical Problem-Solving
skills
:
Analyzes financial data, identifies trends, and investigates discrepancies. Supports decision-making through budget comparisons, forecasting, and risk assessment. Implements process improvements for greater efficiency.
Process Optimization & Tech Proficiency

Skilled in accounting software (QuickBooks, Dext), CRM systems (Micharity), and automation tools. Streamlines AP/AR processes, ensures timely reconciliations, and maintains
accurate records. Leverages technology to improve accuracy and scalability.
What You Bring
Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance or Accounting.
Fund development and non-for-profit experience is a strong asset.
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for Not-for-Profit organizations and CRA legislation.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Teams) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks.
Basic problem-solving skills to identify issues that may impact timelines and seek guidance on potential solutions.
Ability to keep tasks organized and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely completion of work.
Adaptability and openness to feedback for continuous learning and improvement.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing organizational needs.
