JOB PURPOSE



As our Finance Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in helping us deliver on our mission. You'll bring precision, care, and a strong sense of purpose to the numbers that fuel our work and help us serve our community with integrity and transparency. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Operations, your work will ensure that our financial systems run smoothly, our donors feel valued, and our team has the support they need to thrive. You bring a sharp eye for detail, a commitment to accountability, and a genuine passion for making a difference through numbers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



In Accounts Payable, you'll enter payables in QuickBooks Online and Monday.com, prepare payment batches, obtain approvals, respond to vendor inquiries, and reconcile credit card receipts monthly.

In Accounts Receivable, you'll oversee daily donation processing across platforms like iATS, Canada Helps, and PayPal, issue receipts and invoices, and manage acknowledgments to ensure donor trust and transparency.

In Accounting, you'll prepare journal entries, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, track donations, support the year-end audit, and ensure ledger accuracy. In addition, you will process biweekly payroll, onboard new employees, and manage year-end tax forms.

You'll also help us maintain strong, accurate data through QuickBooks and our CRM database. Whether updating donor records, merging duplicates, or generating reports, your behind-the-scenes work will strengthen our relationships and inform smarter decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS



3-5 years of work experience in Finance and Accounting (non-profit experience is an asset but not required) Bachelor's degree or related education; progression towards an Accounting designation is an asset Experience with Quickbooks Online or similar accounting software Experience processing payroll, using Ceridian or similar applications Strong experience managing accounting and project management software, and CRM database systems, such as Monday.com and Bloomerang Strong experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel Strong accounting knowledge Able to multi-task and work flexibly Professional manner and strong communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Able to work independently and self direct Dependable and trustworthy Positive attitude and strong work ethic
