We?re excited to announce the addition of a brand-new Finance & Accounting Manager to join our team. Our Finance & Accounting Manager will direct the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and all Accounting responsibilities and will prepare comprehensive financial reporting for all Company activities assisting management partners to make critical decisions about the Company's future. In addition, this Finance and Accounting Manager will oversee company fiscal, human resource, and information technology functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), current trends, insurance needs, and regulations. HYBRID/REMOTE:Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This is a remote work opportunity however on-site work will be required in the Greater Toronto area as business needs grow. There will be limited travel domestically within Canada and internationally to the United States as business needs require. Accountabilities and Job Activities:

  • Assure and maintain all financial practices and standards are met;
  • Support all cash management responsibilities including but not limited to bank reconciliations, credit card processing & ACH transfer;
  • Canadian compliance & standards are upheld for accounting, HR & IT practices;
  • As the company grows, this role will evolve to oversee, hire, train, coach, develop, motivate, and provide regular performance feedback to direct reports;
  • Provide Direction of Finance Department objectives;
  • Oversee the accurate and timely production of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and budgets;
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and cash application;
  • Oversee the activities of Accounts Receivable to ensure the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable including invoicing, collecting & client custom reporting;
  • Ensure that internal controls and policies in financial reporting mechanisms are in place and consistently used to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements, including receivables, inventory, and payables; Review accounting department reports for integrity and accuracy & distribute to Senior Management;
  • Tax filings for GST/HST are performed timely & accurately;
  • Payroll processing bi-weekly to members & withholding requirements are upheld;
  • Will work collaboratively with all departments & members at all levels of the organization;
  • Optimize the handling of bank relationships and initiate strategies for improvement;
  • Work to optimize benefits & insurance standards;
  • Vet and manage relationships with 3rd party vendors;
  • Review all accounting entries for accuracy and perform monthly reconciliations.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Stay up-to-date of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for accounting, finance, and employment standards of the company.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Periodic Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate key performance reports and indicators;
  • Review financial statements monthly;
  • Complete tax and state filings;
  • Meet periodically with leadership to ensure general and Canadian standards and compliance are being met for finance, accounting, HR, and IT.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s Degree in accounting, finance or related field required; MBA preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred;
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting;
  • 5+ years of experience in management position;
  • Advanced accounting skills required;
  • Advanced computer skills required; proficiency in Excel, Access and reporting software required;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience with Avalara or other sales tax software packages is preferred;
  • Experience with either a bank or 3rd party credit card processor is preferred;
  • An individual that values collaboration with others in the organization;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking ability;
  • Understanding of information systems development and implementation;
  • Capable to work remotely in a motivated and productive fashion with little support;
  • Proficient in English required, Proficient in French strongly preferred.
