Seed Production Technician - Agriculture Background Required

Lethbridge County, AB T1J 5N9

Contract:

5+ Months (Extendable)

Pay:

$23.00/hr (without benefits)

Shifts:

Rotating every 2 weeks

Day: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Evening: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM 40 hours per week + optional overtime + some Saturdays

About the Role

We are seeking a Seed Production Technician with an agriculture or seed industry background to support our production operations in Lethbridge County. This position involves hands-on work with seed conditioning, packaging, and quality control in a clean, safety-focused facility.

Responsibilities

Perform seed cleaning, sizing, treating, and packaging Support sampling, labeling, and reworking of 50 lb. seed bags Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment (training provided if needed) Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehousing Maintain accurate production and quality records using Excel and Outlook Follow all safety and quality procedures Perform general maintenance and housekeeping tasks as directed

Requirements

Background in agriculture, seed handling, or crop production (required) Comfortable using computers and programs such as Excel and Outlook Forklift experience preferred (or willing to learn) High School Diploma or equivalent required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions Reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to work rotating shifts

Preferred Qualifications

Diploma or coursework in Agriculture or a related field Experience in seed processing or manufacturing environments
