We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to families in need, helping them navigate challenges and access resources. Your work will play a crucial part in enhancing the well-being of children and their families, fostering a nurturing environment for growth and development.
Duties
Conduct assessments to identify the needs of families and children.
Deliver a variety of family and children's programs such as Mother Goose and Me, Play Groups, parenting programs and workshops etc.
Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with families.
Provide guidance and resources to families regarding child development, education, and health services.
Facilitate communication between families and community resources, including schools, healthcare providers, and social services.
Offer emotional support and counseling to families facing challenges.
Monitor progress and adjust support plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress for reporting purposes.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
Experience working with children is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with families from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Knowledge of community resources available for families is a plus.
Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
