Family Support Worker

Family Support Workers support youth and families in the community.

Mentoring

: Developing a rapport with individuals in need, expanding on their interest through the provision of opportunities throughout the community.

Respite

: Provide temporary care for youth in the community with the goal of enhancing familial relationships.

Support

: Provide transportation, to and from appointments or school as needed in order to effectively create a consistent and healthy routine.

Intervention services

: Provision of non-judgmental, trauma informed and culture friendly supports to provide families the guidance needed through conflict resolution, building healthier relationships and positive outcomes to challenges that arise within the family dynamic.

Experience and education an asset:

Nursing Social Services Home care Educational Assistant Early Childhood Education Support Worker Personal care aid Human services First Aid/CPR Mental Health First Aid NVCI/Mandt ASIST/ASK Driver license

Valid driver's license/Driver's Abstract/Criminal Record Check/Social Development Check/1-million liability required


English required (oral/written)


Must be able to work with/around pets i.e., cats and dogs


Part-time, Casual, days, evenings, overnight, weekends
