Analyze conditions and future actions of company properties, and make recommendations to match current and future company needs
Oversee, in partnership with Corporate Real Estate, the operation of real estate properties owned and leased by the company
Understand the company's overall business strategy and ensure alignment of real estate objectives and activities to support this strategy
Capital projects
Manage Capital Expenditure budgets, implementation, and realization of key projects
Establish and monitor department standards and organizational structure to ensure that the current and future real estate and capital needs are being addressed in a proactive manner while maintaining an operating budget that adheres to company objectives
Create and monitor an up-to-date database tracking the Capital portfolio
Identify real estate and Capital needs by working closing with management to understand unique requirements, analyzing industry trends, and help develop business cases
Operational Risk Management
Provide leadership and direction in all areas of operational risk and opportunity assessment, loss control and safety programs, as well as the day-to-day activities related to the adjustment/resolution of any and all risk items (assets, to health and safety)
Propose operational risk mitigation strategies and opportunity for improvements in line with customer contractual requirements
Annually meet with operating groups to explore risk and opportunity history and make recommendations for improvement
Manage the review process of all company agreements/contracts for language affecting risk management and risk control considerations and make appropriate recommendations. This includes any non-standard agreements (i.e. lease agreements)
Environment Health and Safety, Maintenance and Repair
Mentor and coach employees on ES&H policies and regulations
Manage, develop, and lead the Tooling Calibration, Tooling repair, Equipment/plant maintenance
Accountable for the ES&H, Maintenance, Tooling organizations
Ensure support and representation in all operational meetings
Accountable to ensure compliance with all Regulatory bodies related to ES&H, Maintenance and Tooling and act as the liaison with appointed representatives
Project Planning and Implementation
Lead the development of new business project opportunities for LMCES growth in line with company business plans
What you bring to the role
Bachelor of Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of relevent experience
The incumbent will lead operational excellence support through the management of facilities, properties, machinery and calibration, tooling, operational risk management, environmental health and safety, capital expenditure management, and new business project planning. By establishing project plans to include sequential implementation with financial milestones, the head of operational excellence will ensure the engine operations have the infrastructure needed to execute on our commitment to our customer, shareholders, suppliers and employees.
Must be fluent in French and English
