Our Team:

The Business Excellence team is accountable for the North Atlantic Life of Business Planning and Operational Excellence functions. The team focuses on prioritization of opportunities, problem solving, critical business routines, and the deployment of critical resources to manage North Atlantic Operations initiatives and plans.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Business Excellence Manager to support North Atlantic Operations. This is a permanent position based in Sudbury, Ontario.

This role will be responsible for the effective integration of VPS (Management Model and Operating System) across North Atlantic Operations. In addition, the position will lead the Master Plan submission for North Atlantic Operations. The role holder requires expertise in our North Atlantic flowsheet, VPS, problem solving techniques, prioritization methodologies and project management. Effective leadership and collaboration in working with a variety of stakeholders to ensure integration, standardization and continuous improvement is embedded within the technical services and our North Atlantic Operations will be required.

Additionally, in this position you will be accountable for:

  • Coordination, integration, and validation of the North Atlantic Master Plan submission, including the integrated calendar, technical assumptions, and economic model.
  • Working with the Base Metals Strategy and Technical Office teams to close any process or governance gaps and providing clarity on strategic expectations.
  • Driving integration across various functions (mining, milling, smelting, refining, production services) to maximize results for North Atlantic Operations and support full alignment with the Base Metals strategy.
  • Work with operations, mines and plants, to determine their value levers to develop the metrics that matter to their specific asset.
  • Engaging directly with the operating asset teams to provide continuous improvement project prioritization and execution support for continuous improvement projects tied to safety, production, costs, and other critical KPIs.
  • Planning and executing tactical initiatives from ideation to sustainable execution, directly supporting the operations teams in conception, execution, and delivery.
  • Accountable for the North Atlantic and Technical Services Performance routines.
About You

Education:
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline with a P. Eng., is an asset.
  • Lean Certifications are an asset.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Operations and Management of Systems.
