Our facility in Mississauga, Ontario has key positions in Sales, Marketing, Research & Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Support and other disciplines. Operating since 1984, this site specializes in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of a broad portfolio of innovative LED and Lamp technology. The Toronto facility serves a variety of markets such as electronics, optoelectronics, digital printing, general assembly, coatings, and medical device manufacturing, as well as endoscopy, bioscience research, microscopy and instrumentation. We are presently seeking an Operations Excellence Manager who will be responsible for the implementation of innovative processes, systems, tools and capabilities in close collaboration with operational leaders. The Ops Excellence Manager should be highly skilled at leading by example in the delivery of high impact projects and should have inclusive and collaborative management style with the ability to work in a matrix organization, connecting people and best practices. Main Responsibilities:

  • Devise strategies to optimize business procedures and processes to ensure efficiency and smooth workflow.
  • Drive CI/Six Sigma management planning and execution in partnership with local leadership using a balanced global and local optimization approach.
  • Utilizes CI tools and techniques, including lean, Six Sigma, PDCA,A3, Value Stream Mapping to assess, identify, plan, action and drive improvements through to completion.
  • Provide business/operations/engineering data analytics and statistical analysis support to lean six sigma CI and advanced manufacturing projects.
  • Collaborate with internal technology experts to implement best-in-class digitalization initiatives for the production floor to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Contributes to all documentation flow for departmental and related activity in compliance with Regulatory Agencies and FDA.
  • Improve, streamline, and automate manufacturing processes and systems of measure.
  • Act as the primary owner for identifying the need for change/improvement.
  • Leads meetings to review project completion, obstacles, problem resolution, timelines, recommendations and conclusions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5-8 years in operational roles with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience in managing teams either directly or indirectly in high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required, preferably in a Business, Engineering or Technical discipline.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification as Black Belt.
  • Demonstrated CI implementations.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed with demonstrated ability to work well with people.
  • Able to design, develop, and deploy improvement strategies.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent leadership and organizing skills.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills for report writing, documentation etc.
  • Experience working in an ISO9001, 14001, 13485 certified, and/or FDA QSR compliant environment is an asset.
