JOB OVERVIEW
Co-Ex Tec Manufacturing has been making greenhouse sealing systems since 1986. With a focus on World Class Manufacturing, Sustainability and flawless launches, we require a strong leadership to satisfy the demands of our high end automotive facility. The Facilities Manager will lead our sustainability objectives, building maintenance and hold our maintenance teams accountable for TPM implementation and preventative maintenance scorecards. Negotiate with external contractors to get the best value and supervise building security function.
LEADERSHIP SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for motivating, hiring, terminating, evaluating, training and developing staff (incl. succession planning). May consult with others on personnel policies and practices.
FINANCIAL AND LEGAL RESPONSIBILITES
Compiles information and data required for financial activity. Responsible for the collection, expenditure and/or accounting of work unit and revenues, including profit and loss situations.
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed. Review and adhere to division-specific health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies. Respond and report in a timely manner to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues. Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment. Correct unsafe acts or conditions, promote health and safety policies and ensure that these policies are followed. Ensure improvement of workplace ergonomics. Ensure the Magna EHS policy is communicated to employees annually and the necessary training is provided.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITES
1. Supervise team members and contractors, monitor work progress and do final inspection upon completion of work.
2. Responsible for the maintenance of all HVAC, Water Treatment Equipment, Compressors, Dryers, Chillers, Plumbing, Main Electrical Distribution Equipment, Lighting, Buildings, Grounds and Parking Lots.
3. Defining equipment specifications. Prepare cost estimates, plan and forecast the mechanical, electrical, HVAC and installation requirements of new projects, make recommendations and provide technical support as required. Manage installation of projects.
4. Manage Certificate of Approvals per Ministry of Environment for facility emissions and discharges.
5. Manage sustainability work cell assessments. Develop reports for current state and action plan for improvement areas.
6. Direct and manage sustainability projects to team members to reach goals based on OEM customer and Magna requirements.
7. Develop specifications for maintenance and service agreements on facility related equipment.
8. Maintain smooth, economical and continuous plant operation by establishing preventative maintenance, equipment modification, and repair programs for all production machinery.
9. Review and provide input on plans for facility improvements, relocations, and alterations.
10. Regulate fire extinguisher / sprinkler systems and ensure all work meets N.F.P.A. 13, Ontario Fire Code and other applicable codes.
11. Perform regular workplace inspection.
12. Perform accident investigation.
13. Correct unsafe acts or conditions.
14. Train new/transferred/temporary employees on safe methods of conducting their job.
15. Conduct or commend Health & Safety performance.
16. Be on call after regular hours to respond to contractors, fire alarms, security alarms and other emergency requests.
17. Ensure, promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
18. Manage storage and disposal of chemicals waste elimination and reduction projects, environmental and security issues
19. Support all departments for Facility issues, Production Support Equipment, Production Equipment installations.
20. Set requirements and supervise support contractors for facility cleaning.
21. Perform, direct and/or carry out any other reasonable duties as may be required or assigned by Management.
