Job Description

Our company looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join our inbound/outbound Dry van and flatbed dispatch team, ensuring seamless coordination within our freight department.

Responsibilities

Compile route assignments and dispatch drivers effectively. Track, trace, and provide timely updates on shipment statuses. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of State/Provincial laws regarding heavy haul load restrictions. Proactively address day-to-day issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as a high-performing team player. Analyze and optimize logistical procedures for enhanced efficiency. Professionally communicate with customers, addressing queries via phone, email, or fax. Prepare accurate reports for upper management. Provide backup support to team members outside regular hours, as needed. Foster positive working relationships with coworkers, drivers, management, and customers. Establish and maintain a reliable carrier base for new and existing accounts. Conduct price negotiations for 3PL services and coordinate movements with carriers. Collaborate closely with internal team members to ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements and Skills:

3+ years of experience in the trucking industry as a Dry van and flatbed dispatcher. Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transportation preferred. Experience with transportation and logistics software: Load Link, DAT Board, Fleet Manager, and Border Connect. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to handle high-stress situations with composure. Proficiency in Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations. Strong command of MS Office suite with a quick learning ability for new platforms/systems. Understanding of transportation laws and regulations in Canada and the USA. Experience in heavy haul operations is advantageous.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday . hours may vary depending on operational/business needs. Occasional weekend availability.
