Experienced Accounting Technician

Job Description
Houghton & Co. is a small, well-established firm that has been providing accounting services in Kelowna for over 30 years. Located in the South Pandosy area, we are committed to serving our clients with the quality, hands-on service and building strong, long-lasting relationships.
We are currently seeking an experienced accountant with the following attributes:
- Public practice experience with a minimum of 3 years preparing Canadian T1 / T2 tax returns and compilation engagements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, Caseware, and Profile
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task and willing to work in a challenging, dynamic environment
- Skilled communicator, both verbal and written
- Analytical and attention to detail
- Preparation and review of compilation working paper files
- Preparation and review of corporate and personal tax returns (T1/T2)
- Preparation of CRA filings such as GST, T4?s, T5?s, T5018?s, etc.
- Estate, trust, and compliance, and trust work as needed
- Communicate with clients, government agencies, other professionals, and staff

- Kelowna, BC V1Y 4Y7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Canadian public practice: 3 years (required)
- CPA (preferred)
