The Every Child Belongs (ECB) Program at The George Hull Centre operates in partnership with the City of Toronto: Children's Services and delivers consultation services to childcare centres to support the inclusion of children with additional support needs in the childcare program. The Every Child Belongs Resource Consultant works with an assigned cluster of licensed childcare centres. Services may include observation and support strategies and plans for individual children; consultation on classroom programming; system consultation with staff and parents; and customized workshops for providers and parents.
Our successful candidate will be a warm and welcoming RECE who has a passion for working with children with additional support needs; has experience in the Early Learning and Care and Children's Mental Health sectors and is ready for an opportunity to build their coaching and mentoring skills in a consultation role.
The successful candidate will join a diverse, committed and experienced team in our Prevention and Early Intervention Services department. Successful applicants will have:
Minimum of three years of experience working with children with additional support needs within the Early Childhood or Children's Mental Health systems.
Experience working with diverse cultures and ethnicities.
Extensive knowledge of child development theory and strategies to promote and enhance healthy child development of children birth to 12 years of age, with a particular expertise in strategies to support both developmental and social emotional additional support needs.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with children, caregivers and childcare providers to support healthy child development.
Required Qualifications:
Registered Early Childhood Educator with Post Graduate Resource Consultation Certificate.
Trained in and experience administering and interpreting the ASQ3 and ASQ-SE2
Use of a personal vehicle and a valid Ontario driver's license. This position requires travel to different childcare centre locations within the West Geographical Service Area of Toronto.
Up to date Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings.
