We're looking for our next Event Sales Specialist!

, creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Archeo Trattoria, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Distillery Events (the Fermenting Cellar and The Distillery District- Loft) are seeking experienced applicants to sell the Distillery Events venues and catering services while coordinating all client event details. The successful candidate will ensure superior end-to-end client and guest experience while driving team and individual revenue and profitability goals.

Please note: You must already have legal permission to work in Canada to be considered for this role.

What you will be doing:
  • Lead the team by example to exhibit, encourage and motivate the DRC's Mission & Values, and inspire the team with your exciting vision for the future
  • Demonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics and take every opportunity to promote the venue and the DRC
  • Leading with creative solutions and vision within each step of the Client Experience.
  • Respond to incoming client inquiries in a thorough and timely fashion.
  • Implement departmental procedures and policies that ensure a seamless and exceptional client experience from initial planning through to the execution of the event, including: accurate and detailed function sheets, floor plans, cost estimates and thorough communication with clients and appropriate departments.
  • Network and create relationships with new, current and potential clients.
  • Independently schedule and host client tours, menu tastings and details meetings with direct clients and assigned planners.
  • Conduct site tours/visits with potential clients. Lead as a catering, event and venue expert for all Distillery Restaurants' event locations and services.
  • Support the team by identifying and uncovering market intelligence in business trends and marketing opportunities that can improve overall event sales and catering performance such as social media, networking events, site visits and other sales and marketing activities.
  • Track status of new business and reasons for lost business with recommendations to the management team.
  • Coordinate event logistics from menu selection through contracting, fulfillment, BEOs, invoicing and event wrap up and follow up. Work within catering software to manage client files.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers for select events to organize orders, deliveries, pickups and finding new ways to work with vendor partners to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
  • Facilitate communication before, during and post event with pertinent Event Operations team to ensure a high level of service, recap and event log.
  • Follow up with clients using information from past events creating opportunity for new bookings.
  • Participate in sales stream and large-project development strategy and project development groups as assigned.

A track record of staying on time, on task, and on budget while simultaneously putting customer service at the forefront - making each client feel cared for.
  • Knowledge. You have an in-depth knowledge of food, catering and luxury brand hospitality. Your clients will be social event clients as well as corporate, large and small, looking to make an impression or sell their brand through our culinary experience.
  • Solutions. You would describe yourself as proactive rather than reactive. You see the world through a solutions-oriented lens, and you can work a flexible schedule to meet client schedules; sometimes open to working, or being on-call, late nights and weekends
  • Creativity. You have a creative flare and an ability to think "outside the box" balanced with a realistic grounding on what is achievable when delivering on client expectations. You're curious, always asking the questions to learn what's possible in the venues, restaurants, the DRC and the Distillery Historic District.
